Murano Cobalt Blue Mezza Filigrana Glass Bowl
A sculptural piece of vintage Murano glass, formed in clear and rich cobalt blue with incredibly fine white filigrana threads twisting through the glass in tight, hypnotic spirals.
The bowl has been pulled and worked into a dramatic star-like shape, with sweeping points and folds that distort the striped decoration as they move around the piece. Originally intended as an ashtray or small decorative bowl, it now works beautifully as a standalone piece of art glass, catching the light differently from every angle.
Believed to date from around the 1960s, it is a lovely example of the bold, technically accomplished glassmaking associated with post-war Murano production.
