Sold — Refinished Ercol Pandora Coffee Table
A beautifully refinished Ercol Pandora coffee table, one of the more distinctive designs from the British furniture maker’s later mid-century period.
The table has a wonderfully substantial, architectural shape, with softly rounded corners, sculpted open sides, and a broad square top that really shows off the timber's character. The refinishing has brought the grain back to life, giving it a rich, deep finish while retaining the warmth and character of the original wood.
Storage is built into the design, with two useful drawers on one side, finished with brass cup handles, alongside generous open shelving accessible from around the table. Set on castors, it moves surprisingly easily despite its solid proportions.
The Pandora is a great example of Ercol moving into a heavier, more sculptural style while still keeping the rounded edges and careful joinery associated with the brand. It works particularly well as a generous central coffee table, with plenty of space for books, magazines and everyday living-room bits without everything ending up on the top.
This example has been fully refinished, with the timber cleaned back and given a fresh protective finish. Some small signs of its previous life remain, as you would expect from a vintage piece, but overall it presents beautifully.
