G Plan Brandon Bedside Cabinet
A lovely compact bedside cabinet from G Plan’s early Brandon range, with the warm oak finish and beautifully figured grain that give these pieces so much character.
The design combines a useful upper drawer with a generous cupboard below, making it a practical little storage piece. The cupboard door has particularly attractive grain figuring, while the original sculpted wooden handles and softly rounded frame details are typical of the Brandon range.
The drawer is traditionally dovetailed and the cabinet has a pleasingly solid, well-made feel throughout. Its narrow proportions make it ideal beside a bed, but it would work equally well as a small side table or occasional cabinet elsewhere in the home.
A handsome piece of early G Plan with plenty of natural warmth, and a good example of the more traditional oak styling that came before the company’s better-known teak designs of the 1960s.
