G Plan Brandon Oak Bookcase

A handsome G Plan Brandon bookcase and display cabinet, with the beautifully figured oak that makes this early G Plan range so distinctive.

The upper section is enclosed by sliding glass doors, with a full-width glass shelf creating plenty of space for books, ceramics, glassware or favourite objects. Below, a second pair of sliding doors conceals useful cupboard storage, keeping the overall design simple and uncluttered.

There is some particularly lovely character in the timber on this piece. The top has a wonderfully lively, ‘tiger oak’ grain, which continues through the piece.

Its relatively shallow proportions make it easy to live with, offering plenty of display and hidden storage without projecting too far into a room. It would work beautifully in a living room or dining space, but equally well as a bookcase in a study or a cabinet for a collection.
