Jano Clarke Rust and Teal Handled Vase
A rounded handled vase by Jano Clarke, with a short neck, curved loop handle and a rich glaze of rusty orange, muted teal and deep brown. Broad oval areas of pale blue-green frame small cream botanical motifs, creating a pattern that changes as you turn the piece.
The warmer glaze gathers around the neck and handle, while darker streaks flow down the body towards its narrower base. Fine speckling softens the larger blocks of colour and gives the surface plenty of variation.
Its autumnal palette would work particularly well with teak, walnut or a simple painted shelf, either displayed by itself or grouped with other earthy studio pottery.
