Jano Clarke Lidded Jar with Wheat Decoration
Raised ears of wheat curve around this lidded Jano Clarke jar, their warm rust-brown colour standing out against a finely mottled green glaze. The individual grains and long stems give the surface a tactile quality, with darker tones gathering around the edges of the decoration.
The gently rounded body narrows towards the base, while the broad lid finishes in a shaped central knob. Fine rust-coloured rings around the lid and rim bring the whole design together.
Earthy greens, harvest motifs and softly flowing glaze give this piece a strong countryside character.
