G Plan Librenza Chest of 4 Drawers
A fully restored 1960s chest from G Plan’s Tola & Black / Librenza range, designed by Leslie G. Dandy for E. Gomme. Richly patterned timber, a black underframe and brass fittings give this piece the distinctive look that makes the range so appealing.
Golden-brown tones and darker stripes run vertically through the Tola veneer, with a darker timber surround framing the four broad drawer fronts. Curved brass handles soften the otherwise straight-lined design, while tapered black legs and brass-capped feet lift the cabinet off the floor and keep its proportions light.
The restoration has brought out the grain and colour of the wood while preserving the character of the original furniture. Four generously sized drawers with dovetailed construction provide plenty of practical storage for clothes and linens, making this a lovely bedroom chest that would also work well elsewhere in the home.
