Royal Copenhagen Leaf-Pattern Stoneware Dish
A vintage Danish stoneware dish by Royal Copenhagen, attributed to ceramicist Gerd Bøgelund. Its broad rim features a flowing border of stylised leaves, picked out in pale olive against a deep brown ground. The softly speckled centre brings together cream, moss green and warm brown, with variations in the glaze giving the surface plenty of depth.
Bøgelund worked at Royal Copenhagen from the 1940s and is known for intricately patterned stoneware, often drawing on natural forms. This dish reflects that approach, combining botanical decoration with a simple, rounded shape and an earthy palette. The underside bears the Royal Copenhagen factory mark, three blue waves and an impressed monogram consistent with her signature.
An attractive display piece for a sideboard or coffee table, particularly alongside warm wood, other studio ceramics and natural materials.
