Vicki Thomas Funny Bone Originals ‘The Fat Cat’
A wonderfully rotund white cat designed by Vicki Thomas for Enesco as part of the Funny Bone Originals range. Based on Thomas’s original gourd-art characters, the figure has the collection’s wonderfully wonky folk-art look, with a huge rounded body, tiny feet, sleepy expression and a textured tail curled around the back.
Hand-painted in soft white with peachy details and finished with long wire whiskers, it has plenty of personality without taking itself too seriously. A brilliant decorative piece for a shelf, sideboard or anyone with a weakness for slightly ridiculous cats. Guilty as charged.
Dating from around 2000, this is one of the larger, more characterful designs in the range.
